All dogs must have a dog license issued by the St. Francis Police Department. The license is issued for as long as the rabies vaccine is valid. Must provide proof of rabies vaccination. A 1-2 year license has a cost of 10 dollars and a 3 year license has a cost of 15 dollars. The St. Francis Police Department accepts cash, check, or credit. Paying by credit does have an additional service charge of 2.75% of the total charged plus 50 cents.
If a dog at large is contained, please call Anoka County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 763-427-1212 and the Animal Control Officer will come to pick up the dog. City animal control will only accept dogs; the kennel will not accept cats or other animals.
To retrieve impounded dogs, owners can call Tammy Gimpel at 763-331-2275. The owner will be required to pay impound and maintenance fees upon receipt of the dog. If the dog was not licensed or vaccinated, those would also need to be paid before the dog is released from impound.
