Council Meeting Tonight: Hearing and public input on the 2023 Tax Levy and Budget

Tonight at 6pm, the City Council will be holding a hearing and public input on the 2023 Tax Levy and Budget. While the city is proposing to raise the levy by $888,100 mostly to help fund parks and a new city hall/fire station, the tax rate is a dropping from 51.146% in 2022 to a proposed 2023 rate of 49.511%.   There have been some increases in market value of properties that are affecting taxes for property owners.   Please watch the attached link explaining the forms and the impact of the value of your home on your taxes.
