Emerald Ash Borer Information

Emerald ash borer was first discovered in North America in southeast Michigan in 2002, and has now spread to many other U.S. states and some Canadian provinces.

In Minnesota, it was discovered in 2009 in St. Paul, and a year later in Minneapolis and southeast Minnesota. Emerald ash borer continues to spread; it was found in greater Duluth in 2015. For more information on Emerald Ash Borer click on this link Emerald Ash Borer Information

Emerald Ash Borer DNR ReLeaf Grant Project - Ongoing

Public Works staff was awarded $147,797.75, in grant monies to help the City of St. Francis eradicate the Emerald Ash Borer by removing all ash trees on public lands and replacing them with a non-disease tree species to keep a diverse tree canopy.
